Alternative Lifestyles...

In puzzle pirates, sometimes a player will have more than one character s/he plays -- that characters is know as an "alt". It's not a sneaky underhanded practice - when you start an account on the game you get 3 slots for pirates. OK, sometimes it is a sneaky underhanded practice - sometimes a guy who's a really slick player will create an alt with wimpy stats, then get in sword fight/rumble/drinking match/poker game with someone who thinks they're playing someone their own level. This is frowned on of course, but it happens sometimes.


These are my main 2 characters on the Hunter Ocean - Aloyicious and Suzysunshine. The only reason they are in the same picture is because they're 2 different accounts. That's because I didn't know how to share pieces of eight (aka POE) and dubloons (aka dubs) between the 2 of them. I know how to now - buy a house, make them all room mates, then put in a chest, wardrobe, bludgeon trunk, and sword rack. They pool clothes, POE, and weapons using the furniture - all you have to do is deposit something you want the others to get to in the appropriate piece of furniture. Of course, there is nothing that holds dubs - but pirates on the same account share those. I guess because they can't be on at the same time to give them to each other.


This is Anoldguy - I don't play him very much, in fact, he's still a greenie (until you've been logged in for so many hours, your name show up green, meaning you're a 'green horn' or greenie). But Aloyicious gave him the better shirt, pants, and boots before he got one of the 2 free portraits you can get (Al and Suzy's portait was ridiculously expensive). He's still on the crew Al and Suzy were originally on (although it's gone through yet another name and leadership change).



This is Lillyth - I was actually surprised I could get that as a name - she is still an unaffiliated pirate, meaning she's not on a crew. I decided to give her a somewhat more "wholesome" look than Suzy (and the somewhat more exotic name - go figure). I had Suzy take her out and buy her wardrobe, and it took longer to repay the money, so she's not a greenie anymore. I had her and Suzy switch outfits once - and it just didn't work out for either of them.


I suppose Youngfreya here is an alt too - but she's on a different ocean and can't interact with the other characters at all (although she is tied in with Suzy's account - I have to buy at least 24 dubs a month for Suzy to keep Freya's access active). She got invited to join a crew, and was made fleet officer right off the bat. Then the flag and crew got sold to someone else, but she's sticking around - because the crew is being handled well. Of course, since she has her own ship, she could start her own crew. She's also a bit of a clothes horse, this is her formal gown - she also has Suzy's outfit and Lillyth's as well -- in red of course.
